The Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police, Honourable Lebona Lephema, is representing the Kingdom of Lesotho at the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review being held in Geneva, Switzerland from 15 to 17 December 2025.
The event provides an opportunity for governments and representatives of key stakeholder groups to take stock of the progress made toward achieving the objectives of the Global Compact on Refugees. Most importantly, it allows participants to report on the progress in implementing pledges made at the Global Refugee Forum in 2023, as well as outstanding pledges from the inaugural Forum held in 2019.
In his statement, the Honourable Minister reaffirmed the Governmentβs unwavering commitment to ensuring that Lesotho plays its part and works collaboratively with partners to build a future in which every displaced person can access protection, rebuild their lives, and contribute meaningfully to the countryβs development. He further presented an update on Lesothoβs progress in implementing the four pledges announced at the 2019 and 2023 Global Refugee Forums, along with other key national developments.
During the margins of the conference, the Honourable Minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with various stakeholders.
