The Commissioner for Refugees and Migration in the Kingdom of Lesotho, Ms Nthati Mosebi, is participating in a Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Investigations Training held from 09 to 14 February 2026 at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Gaborone,
A key component of the program is the promotion of victim-centered and trauma informed approaches, ensuring that victims of trafficking are identified, protected, and assisted in a manner that respects their rights, dignity, and well-being. The training further emphasizes the importance of inter-agency and cross-border cooperation, recognizing that trafficking in persons is a transnational crime requiring coordinated regional responses.
Ms Mosebiβs participation in the training forms part of Lesothoβs continued efforts to strengthen national capacity in the prevention, investigation, and prosecution of
trafficking in persons cases, while also improving protection mechanisms and support services for victims of TIP. The knowledge and skills gained through the training
are expected to contribute to improved national responses and alignment of Lesothoβs practices with international and regional legal frameworks aimed
at combating trafficking in persons.
The training is sponsored by the United States of America, Embassy in Lesotho. Among other participants are law enforcement officers including Inspector Mohau Mokobocho and Woman Police Constable βMaleseli Mamooe from the Lesotho Mounted Police Service, National Security Services, and other relevant stakeholders from various countries within the region.
